Jo and her husband Bill of over thirty years
live near Cincinnati, Ohio and have raised three boys: Brad, Shawn,
and Ryan. Jo has expressed her creativity in many fields throughout
her life including the creation of unique handcrafted pottery, artistic
and natural floral arrangements, and exquisite quilts. Currently,
she teaches T'ai Chi Chih®, Joy through Movement.. The following
remarks about Jo’s work are from two of her close friends.
An artist who expresses her gift through
many mediums, Jo Whetstone is now sharing her paintings with us. Through
the years Jo has developed her skills as a potter, quilter, floral
designer, pianist, cook and T'ai Chi instructor. Her successful quest
for inner personal peace allows Jo to see life in a beautifully unique
way. This perspective is reflected in her art. – Enjoy, Barbara

Jo Whetstone’s paintings are heavily influenced from her
quilting background, which perhaps explains why shape, hue, and texture
are important elements in her art. Jo's medium, watercolor, allows
her to show more of the depth in her relationship with nature and
spirituality. Jo has paintings that fall to either side of the abstract
/ representational divide. Her art, with its often-bold shapes and
intricate color overlays, captures the eye and the imagination. Jo's
unique expression needs to be seen and enjoyed. -Peggy Jamison
